Default What a ride

Sunday Tr!p and I headed out on our bikes for a couple of days of fun. We had planned to head to Cape Breton and run the Cabot Trail but the weather wasn't looking too good on Monday. We decided last minute to head for Quebec and take a ride around the Gaspe coast. For anyone who has never been there, GO! The riding was amazing and the weather was excellent for all three days. We ended up putting on 1900kms round trip. Aside from some sore butts we had absolutely no issues the whole trip. Some of the roads that run in through the mountains are to die for, the scenery is awesome, and the twisties are nothing to bulk at... Made it home and it took an hour to clean the bug guts off the bike. Looking forward to the next time we get the chance to do it again...

We didn't make any plans, book any hotels, google the crap out the area, we didn't even have a map. We had three days to ride and that's where we ended up. The weather was great, the roads were even better, and the people were very friendly (thank God for Rocket the translator though, I would've been hooped) How do you say "where the frig am I" in french? haha...and yes I do have some pictures to share. I'll upload them later, when I get a little more time.

Just wondering how you guys made out and sent a PM to Tr!p. Sounds like a great route and a good approach you took!! I think sometimes we all get too anal about planning, booking hotels, mapping out times/distances --- I'm a classic for that type of planning! However, the free and easy approach you described here sounds like a hell of a lot more fun. Glad you had great weather. I did that trip as a kid but too long ago for me to remember and I'd like to do it again, especially two-wheeled.

With work around 60 - 70 hours a week and study about 30 - 40, there's no time left to play! Once my final assignment goes in Friday, I have no more study until September 20 and I have a feeling that V-Star odometer is going to start moving UP!!

I'm the same way Tobiquer, usually plan everything to the nines but not this time... We figured we had 3 days to ride and we were gonna make the best of it, and best it was.. If anyone is planning a ride around the Gaspe, do it counter-clockwise and expect to be blown away right after passing Perce Rock, you'll see what I mean when you do...

Tr!p, post up some pics when you can (forgot my camera so he was my photographer).
